North West Conservation District is excited to announce the receipt  of generous funding from the Ruth and Robert Cron Endowment Fund of  the Northwest CT Community Foundation. With this funding, we will expand  our agricultural education programs at the Beardsley and Memorial  Library in Winsted, CT. This educational initiative began last year with  implementation of a children’s community garden along with an 8 week  program teaching hands-on life skills for growing food. In addition this  year, every participating family will receive an at-home gardening kit  with supplies, and we are offering a 4-session hands-on program for  young teens centered around agriculture and encouraging environmental  stewardship.

Our first program is on Wednesday June 15th,  3:30PM-4:30PM for the kids program, and 4:30PM-5:30PM for the young teen  program. Registration is required for the first week only – please call  860-379-6043 or visit https://www.beardsleylibrary.org/ to learn more.”
