Family Fun Day with Barkhamsted Recreation and The 2022 FRCC River Steward Team (New)

Register today for The Barkhamsted Recreation Department’s and the FRCC River Steward Team’s Family Fun Day that will be held on Sunday, July 10 from 2-4 p.m. in front of the Barkhamsted Historical Society at the picnic tables. There will be many enjoyable activities planned that will be led by some of the members of Barkhamsted Recreation Department’s camp staff and the 2022 FRCC River Steward team including nature crafts, scavenger hunts, Jr. River Ranger booklets, super fun games, corn hole competitions and so much more. There will be a special book reading and signing of “A Fish in A Tree” at 2:30 p.m.- by Debbie Washington, Barkhamsted author. This event is for all ages and is Free. We hope to see you and your family there! Small snacks will also be served. The event is for all ages. Paddle the Farmington River with Barkhamsted Recreation and The FRCC River Stewards (New-2022 River and Recreation Event Series)

Experience the beautiful vistas of the scenic Farmington River during a Friday evening of fun while paddling with Collinsville Canoe and Kayak, FRCC Summer River Stewards and the Barkhamsted Recreation Department for our River and Recreation Family Event. Spend an enjoyable evening while getting in some great exercise. You can choose whether you would like to kayak or Paddle Board. Whatever your preference, you’re sure to have a great time. The cost is $25.00 per person, per event night and the price includes a paddleboard, or kayak, paddle and life vest. Lots of smiles and laughs are sure to be had by all. The program is open to adults and families. Children should be ages 8 or over and everyone that attends must know how to swim.
The cost is $10 if you have your own supplies. Collinsville Canoe charges $5 for Parking and boat launch and then $5.00 for Barkhamsted Recreation. (Payment must be received one week prior to the program)
Date-Friday, July 15 -Event Night 1 and Friday, August 12.-Event Night 2
Time-4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Location: Collinsville Canoe and Kayak- 41 Bridge Street, Route 179, Collinsville, CT

Everyone must register through this link-https://forms.gle/gGLyeYt1oEvM84S1A by Wed. July 6 for the July 15th event and by Wed. August 3 for the August 12 event so we can have the proper equipment and supervision in place. Mail your check to Barkhamsted Barkhamsted Town Hall-67 Ripley Hill Road, Barkhamsted, CT 06078 or drop it off in the white mailbox outside town hall in the upper level by the deadline. Once you are registered there are no refunds as we have to give a head count to Collinsville Canoe and Kayak the head count the week before the event.
