CT ENT Sinus Center in Stamford and Norwalk, Connecticut, promotes excellence in patient care and offers a Sinus Self-Assessment Quiz to determine how sinus symptoms may affect a patient’s quality of life.
While filling out the quiz, you can select symptoms you experience that could be related to sinusitis and receive a quality-of-life score. Some symptoms are associated with the sinuses, such as congestion and nasal drainage. Other symptoms refer to mental issues, such as inability to concentrate.
“Everything we do, other than really provide excellent medical care, is geared around the patient experience, because you can have the best medical care and be the smartest doctor and the smartest nurse practitioner (but) if the rest of the operation isn’t at the same level, the patient will not have a good experience,” Dr. Robert Weiss told Litchfield Hills Today.
The sinus center staff is often complimented, Weiss said, including front-desk personnel and medical assistants.
“Everybody on the team is so important,” Weiss said. “The reality is, you can have everybody doing what they’re supposed to do. If one person on the team doesn’t quite live up to that standard and (isn’t trying) to make each patient’s experience excellent, it can reflect that patient’s overall experience, so we pay a lot of attention to that.”
Weiss is a board-certified otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon, and a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Adelphi University and attended Penn State College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center before serving in the U.S. Air Force as a major in the medical corps. He is passionate about missionary work and has made several trips to Ethiopia to provide medical care.
