Community Forum Scheduled on Winchester's Affordable Housing Plan - Tuesday, May 31st

2

Residents are encouraged to attend a second community forum as the Town’s Affordable Housing Plan continues to be developed and discussed.  Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, May 31st.  Two options for participation are planned, with a lunchtime remote meeting via ZOOM scheduled for 12PM, and an in-person meeting scheduled at 7PM at Town Hall, 338 Main Street, 2nd Floor - P. Francis Hicks Room.  Please come and learn about the proposed goals and strategies being considered for the Town’s new Affordable Housing Plan.  Add your voice to the discussion…we want your feedback!

Section  12 of Public Act 21-29 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires all  municipalities to adopt an affordable housing plan specifying how each  intends to increase the number of affordable housing developments in the  municipality.  Winchester’s Housing Plan Steering Committee has been meeting monthly since November, 2021.  Please click here for more information.

Come  enjoy some pie and learn about the proposed goals and strategies for a  new affordable housing plan.  Learn why rents are rising so fast, how  homeownership can be more affordable, how older adults can have  downsizing options, and how you could help.

Planning  to attend in person for the discussion and enjoy some pie?  RSVPs are  appreciated (though not required). Please contact Katie with questions  or to RSVP, by phone at (860) 853-6601 or by email at kvaill@townofwinchester.org

Please remember to sign up to receive agendas and minutes through the Town's website E-Subscriber Services.
