Today, Danbury Mayor Dean Esposito announced a new city website will launch this fall aimed at making city government more accessible to Danbury residents. The City of Danbury has partnered with Civic Plus, a national technology company focused on government communications to design, build, and implement the website.
“Since the first day of my administration, one of my top priorities has been building a 21st century communications system for our city to effectively serve our residents. This initiative has been spearheaded by Frank Gentile, Director of Information Technology, and John Kleinhans, Government Affairs and Communications Advisor, and the IT Department. I am proud of the work product and the functionality of this new website, and I look forward to the residents of Danbury directly benefiting by its ease and accessibility,” said Mayor Dean Esposito.
The new website will allow constituents to easily obtain public meeting notices, agendas, and minutes as well as find out more information on news and events more rapidly than ever before. It will also allow for key departments to provide timely updates that will benefit residents with the most up to date information on the City of Danbury.
“Having a fully functioning website is a top priority for municipalities across our state and country. By engaging with a proven vendor such as Civic Plus, the City of Danbury will have a mobile friendly platform that can provide the residents of Danbury with the crucial and critical information they need and deserve,” said Frank Gentile.
Other key communication accomplishments during the Esposito Administrations tenure includes the opening of the renovated Emergency Operations Center, the full implementation of the Danbury Alert System, as well as the launch and success of “This Week in the City”, a weekly video series explaining the work and purpose of city government.
