Tort Law Education Day - October 29th at 1:00

The American Museum of Tort Law is hosting its annual virtual event  Tort Law Education Day on October 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM.  This is an  event devoted to public education about the benefits of tort law.  Tort  Law empowers us to defend ourselves from negligent conduct, or dangerous  and defective products such as cars, household chemicals, and new  untested technologies.

Saturday October 29, 2022 at 1:00 

Each speaker will make a presentation of up to 30 minutes starting at 1:00-3:00

 

Shanin Specter is a founding partner of Kline & Specter, one of the leading  catastrophic injury firms in the United States. He has achieved more  than 200 jury verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million for cases  involving medical malpractice, defective products, medical devices,  auto accidents and general negligence.

 

Joanne Doroshow is the founder and executive director of the Center for Justice &  Democracy and co-founder of Americans for Insurance Reform (AIR). As an  attorney, she has worked on civil justice issues and developed some of  the first educational materials used to fight "tort reform" around the  country.

 

Valerie P. Hans is the  Charles F. Rechlin Professor of Law at Cornell Law School, where she  conducts empirical studies of law and the courts and is one of the  nation's leading authorities on the jury system. 

 

Greg Kafoury is  a partner at Kafoury & McDougal in Oregon. He has tried hundreds of  cases, representing injured clients and championing important social  justice causes. 

 

Ralph Nader is a  consumer advocate, lawyer, and author. He has founded many advocacy  organizations including the Center for Auto Safety, Public Citizen, the  Disability Rights Center, and the Center for Study of Responsive Law.
