Town of Litchfield Connecticut issued the following announcement on March 17.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!!

Below please find a video of  Litchfield’s Poet Laureate, Robert Piazza,  reading “An Irish Airman  Foresees his Death” by Irish poet William Butler Yeats. (You may need to  increase the volume to properly hear it.) This poem was written one  hundred years ago, in reference to World War 1. Yeats’ close associate  Lady Gregory lost her son in the war. He was a pilot in the RAF. Now,  the poem has resonance with the war in Ukraine, especially concerning  the need for fighter jets. May there be peace in Ukraine & in the  world.
